LAPONITE-RD

LAPONITE RD is a synthetic layered silicate that forms highly thixotropic gels when added to water-based formulations at concentrations of 2% or greater. It imparts a shear sensitive structure and can be used for applications that require thickening and suspension properties. LAPONITE RD hydrates and swells in water to give clear, colorless dispersions making it suitable for formulations where transparency is required. Its unique properties allow formulators to achieve improved rheology control, thickening and suspension of pigments/fillers. LAPONITE RD is recommended for use in a wide range of formulations where it can deliver benefits like improved application, leveling and sag resistance.
