BYK-356

BYK 356 is a polyacrylate-based surface additive that improves leveling in solvent-borne and solvent-free coatings. As the solvent-free version of BYK 355, BYK 356 delivers the same benefits without solvents. BYK 356 reduces surface tension to a slight extent and does not impair recoatability or intercoat adhesion. It increases gloss and produces a long wave effect. For the Advanced Materials industry, BYK 356 is beneficial as an anti-cratering and leveling additive. When used in coatings and powders, BYK 356 prevents fish eyes and pinholes in coatings, which can negatively impact performance of Advanced Materials. BYK 356 also does not cause haze in pigmented coatings or turbidity in clear coats, important for Advanced Materials applications requiring high optical quality.
