BYK 425

BYK 425 is a VOC-free rheology additive that improves anti-sagging and anti-settling properties. BYK 425 sets the in-can viscosity of aqueous systems. It enables highly pseudoplastic flow behavior through associative interaction with dispersion particles. The urea modification also increases rheological effect via hydrogen bonds. BYK 425 is suitable for improving storage stability and reducing settling in applications. It does not impair gloss and its rheological effect is independent of pH. BYK 425 improves processing conditions and anti-sagging without negatively impacting performance. Its rheological effectiveness depends on system composition.
