BYK-1709

BYK-1709 is a silicone-containing defoamer that prevents foam during grinding. It provides long-term and shear stability, particularly suited for resin-free grinds. BYK-1709 reduces microfoam and is suitable for aqueous systems based on polyurethane dispersions and polyurethane/acrylate combinations. It defoams pigment concentrates effectively. BYK-1709 ensures a uniform and bubble-free material application with no defects occurring. When combined with BYK-024 in a ratio of 3:2, it proves highly effective in defoaming pigment concentrates. As a low-cycle product, BYK-1709 contains less than 0.1% of D4/D5/D6 cyclic siloxanes. It can be used between 0.1-1% in formulations as an effective defoaming and leveling additive.
