DISPERBYK-191

DISPERBYK-191 is a VOC-free wetting and dispersing additive suitable for aqueous systems. As a copolymer with pigment affinic groups, DISPERBYK-191 improves the dispersion quality of fillers and pigments. By means of steric stabilization, it deflocculates the pigments and fillers, reducing viscosity and improving flow characteristics. This allows for higher pigment loading. DISPERBYK-191 is particularly recommended for direct dispersion in aqueous binders. It provides benefits such as increased gloss, color strength, transparency and hiding power for end products. DISPERBYK-191 can be added to grinding resins, co-solvent blends or shear-stable dispersions. Optimal addition levels are determined through testing, but typical use levels are between 4-13% for inorganic pigments and 19-50% for organic pigments, based on pigment amount.
