DISPERBYK-140

DISPERBYK 140 is a wetting and dispersing additive suitable for stabilizing pigments. Particularly effective for pigments in solvent-borne systems. As an alkyl ammonium salt solution, DISPERBYK 140 deflocculates pigments through steric stabilization. This results in small pigment particle sizes enabling high gloss, improved color strength and transparency with transparent pigments. Viscosity is reduced along with improved leveling properties and higher possible pigment loading. DISPERBYK 140 shows excellent compatibility with standard binders and provides particular benefits when used with cellulose nitrate and thermoplastic acrylate resins. Optimal performance is achieved when incorporated into the mill base before pigment addition. DISPERBYK 140 allows for consistent, high-quality finishes with maximum hiding power and durability important for long-lasting applications.
